Academic Life
I used to teach philosophy at a number of universities, all below the tenure-track level.

I got out of the game when I got a more stable, better paying job out of academics. Sadly, when I was on the job market the number of tenure-track jobs were low, so while I had stable employment, it was likely to be a nomad's life, of which I was weary.
